Shurly

Designing the AI-Augmented Workflow
Holistic Designer & AI Strategist
Strategic Framework MVP
Project Description
The Vision: A Laboratory for the Future Designer
I did not set out to build just another application; I wanted to design a faster way to think.
Shurly began as an experimental foray into AI, acting as a laboratory where I tested how a single designer could lead an entire product team—spanning Brand, Service, Digital, and Marketing—by using Artificial Intelligence as an executive partner.
‍
The mission: Combat the "visual obesity" and technical friction found in legacy B2B tools.
I wanted to validate whether "Radical Simplicity" could be applied not just to a user interface, but to the very process of creation itself.
‍
The Experiment
Moving from "maker" to "curator" by delegating operational tasks to AI to focus on strategic judgment.
‍
Roles
Holistic Designer & AI Strategist.

The Methodology
Building the "Gems"
What started with an amateur’s curiosity quickly evolved into a structured AI-Powered Framework. I didn't just deliver screens; I designed the processes that allowed a solo practitioner to scale their impact.
Instead of performing repetitive manual labor, I built custom AI "Gems" and master prompts to act as my specialized staff. Under my expert supervision—integrating service, product, and graphic design—I developed:
‍
· The Research Engine: Custom Gems designed to analyze web pages, synthesize user research, and perform instant competitive benchmarks.
‍
· Strategic Briefing: Automated templates and prompts that translate raw ideas into actionable design roadmaps.
‍
· Design Proposal Generator: A workflow that transformed research data into high-level design proposals in record time.
‍
The Execution: Human Soul, Machine Speed
While the AI handled the heavy lifting of data synthesis and technical documentation, I focused on the "Human Transaction"—the enthusiasm and perspective that no machine can replicate.
‍
· The Identity: I moved away from the cold "corporate blue" typical of the industry. Inspired by Apple’s "Get a Mac" campaign, I gave Shurly a "Justin Long" personality: young, professional, and human.
‍
· The Experience: I ensured the UI lived up to the "Radical Simplicity" promise. I designed a process based on the Double Diamond framework to eliminate silos, ensuring the brand's soul and the digital product's function grew together from the same root.
‍
· The Foundation: I worked within a high-performance Astro + FastAPI architecture provided by the founder, ensuring the interface felt as instantaneous as the brand promised.
Final Reflection: The Captain and the Co-pilot
Shurly proved that my greatest value is not in pushing pixels, but in designing systems and processes. By building my own AI tools, I reduced weeks of labor into days of strategic curation.
‍
This experiment confirms a vital mantra for the modern era: The AI proposes speed, but the expert disposes judgment. I provided the professional criteria; the AI provided the scale. Looking back, this "amateur experiment" became the foundation of my current professional methodology.
